Statement of Requirement
The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) has a requirement to purchase the following specific food items for the Individual Meal Packs (IMPs):
i. Apple and Brown Sugar Crunchy Cereal;
ii. Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal;
iii. Strawberry Crunchy Cereal;
iv. Beef Jerky BBQ;
v. Chocolate Drink Mix
vi. Strawberry Banana Drink Mix;
vii. Vanilla Drink Mix;
viii. Almonds and Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans;
ix. Peanut Mix; and
x. Peanut, Almonds and Yogurt Covered Cranberries.
Period of Contract
The initial period of the Contract begins on the date the Contract is awarded and ends 1 year later.
Background
Each year, the National Combat Ration Program (NCRP) produces IMPs that are used for training exercises, deployed operations or in emergency situations when the use of fresh rations is not possible. The IMP consist of various food and non-food items packaged in an overwrap bag.
The IMP components are shipped to the Assembler whose task consists of inserting all the individual components inside the overwrap. All combat ration component Contracts state a specific delivery period to ensure timely receipt and inspection of all components. It is the Contractors responsibility to provide sufficient product to sustain the first assembly period and maintain the assembly line.
