Description

The Kulturveranstaltungen des Bundes in Berlin (KBB) GmbH is an association of the Berliner Festspiele with Gropius Bau (GB), the House of World Cultures and the Berlin International Film Festival. Each of these divisions has set itself the goal of organizing internationally outstanding cultural events in Berlin with a different focus. KBB GmbH is supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. Further information can be found at www.kbb.euDer Gropius Bau (GB) organises exhibitions of different thematic orientation and composition as well as of varying scope on approx. 5,000 square metres of exhibition space. The focus is on contemporary international fine arts, as well as modern and ancient art, painting and sculpture, ethnological or archaeological museum objects. The average number of exhibitions shown in the UK is between five and seven per year, although the size and number of objects and works of art may vary. All exhibitions of the GB consist of loans with often high insurance values. The various types and qualities of exhibitions bring with them the need for a broad spectrum of art forwarding services in terms of planning, deployment of skilled workers, packaging systems, transport routes and logistics tasks. In the building, the entire exhibition space on the 3 floors, ground floor, upper floor 1 and upper floor 2, as well as depot and functional rooms in the basement and upper floor 2, will be used for this purpose. The GB, as a distinguished exhibition house and international cooperation partner, expects the highest degree of quality and security in the realisation of the exhibitions when it comes to fulfilling the art forwarding orders. The strict observance of deadlines, the precision of procedures, the observance of safety requirements and the standards of preventive conservation are of the utmost importance in view of the unalterable opening of events and the high liability risks involved. The services offered become the subject of the framework agreement between KBB GmbH and a commissioned bidder. Special requirements exist with regard to the suitability of the contractor, since in addition to specifically trained personnel (art packers, art inspectors), the company's technical equipment with special art transport vehicles, packaging systems, consumables, climate boxes, etc. must be proven. In addition, the supplier must be able to offer international transports and have apron access authorisations as well as access authorisations for air cargo warehouses in Frankfurt am Main, (FRA), Berlin (SXF, TXL) and/or other relevant air cargo crosses (consignor regulated by the Federal Aviation Office). The company or its employees must have access rights which require a security check at the airports. If the (interim) storage of art and/or museum objects is necessary, suitable storage facilities must be available to the provider.
