Description

The city of Gevelsberg is inviting tenders for the "Vendômer Platz and the town hall forecourt" for the planning of traffic facilities, work phases 5 to 9, as well as for the local construction supervision according to the specifications of this project description. The project includes the redesign of Vendômer Square, the town hall forecourt and the connection to the waterway, as the central square of the city centre, Vendômer Square plays an important role in the structure of the city centre. Its current appearance, however, reveals deficits that do not do justice to the function and design of the square in any way. Neither its edges nor the square itself are inviting and attractive. Far too many parking spaces and thus a considerable amount of traffic looking for a parking space cut up the square. The existing small pavement is damaged and too small tree discs cause in wide areas the lifting of the pavement by the root system of the trees. In addition, Vendômer Platz is only inadequately integrated into the overall inner-city structure and currently presents itself in the southern area, the transition to development, more as a backyard. Also the connection of the town hall appears rather dismissive due to the strongly separating design of the town hall slab and does not do justice to the function of an open, citizen-oriented service building. Nevertheless, it must be taken into account that the retail business of the Kaufland self-service store, which is a key feature of the use of the square, is currently undergoing extensive renovation. The design planning (LPH 3), including cost calculation according to DIN 276-1, prepared by the consortium Klapp + Müller GmbH, Rehwinkel 15, 51580 Reichshof mit Architektur Stadtplanung Stadtentwicklung, Hamerla, Gruß-Rinck, Wegmann + Partner, Kanalstraße 28, 40547 Düsseldorf, Germany, including cost calculation according to DIN 276-1, is considered to be a basic requirement for the execution of the order and will be made available.
