1 Background
DND has a requirement of monitoring for, detecting and identifying dangerous sources of radiation when entering operational environments of unknown safety status. Detection and identification of hazardous radiation sources is a critical component of ensuring DND personnel are provided with warning against such hazards. The SPRING system will enable wearable, real-time monitoring for radioactive sources, in addition to identification of source isotopes.
2. Initial Deliverables
The Contractor must deliver the following:
Quantity two-hundred (200) complete SPRING kits, in accordance with the requirements and configuration outlined in Annex B;
Quantity one (1) copy of all system software on a CD;
Publications and Technical Documentation;
Training.
3. Optional Procurements
i. Up to quantity one hundred and fifty (150) SPRING kits in accordance with the operation and technical requirements in Annex B;
ii. Up to five (5) trainings;
iii. Spare parts from the MRSPL.

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.
