Description
The project will focus on cities as tourism destinations. It will address the need to strengthen the cooperation of EU cities on mastering data for tourism, thus accompanying them through their transformation to smart tourism destinations.The general objective of this project are to:— improve the positioning of EU as a world tourism destination seeking new mechanisms to boost innovation in the destinations through the deployment of new technologies and data to create different and highly competitive services;— improve smart and sustainable management of urban tourism destinations and cooperation on data management between urban tourism destinations in the EU.The results of this project (a mapping study on the use of data by cities, tools and capacity building for urban tourism destinations in mastering data) will also inform about how the tourism ecosystem can contribute to current and future EU initiatives related to data and pave the way to more optimal data use for tourism.
