Description

The purpose of the Principal is to contract a contractor who is responsible for the professional daily maintenance of the freely decaying sewerage system managed by the municipality of Gouda. It is the intention of the municipality to leave as much of the work as possible to the contractor, with a good balance between relieving and maintaining control by the municipality is the aim. An extensive project description is included in the selection board.
The Gouda sewerage system consists of approximately 200 kilometres of freely decaying main sewers, more than 40% of which are submerged. More than 35 kilometres of the freely decaying sewerage system has been spoiled, mainly in the inner city and short acreages. There are 13 large sewerage pumping stations, including the Tuinstraat and Nieuwehaven sewerage pumping stations in the inner city. In the older districts and the inner city, the mixed sewerage regularly lies on private land (e.g. drainage via the back gardens). Most of the waste water and part of the rainwater is collected via a free-flowing sewer system and discharged via pumping stations and pressure pipes to the final sewerage pumping station on Bosweg in the Korte Akkeren district. This pumping station pumps the sewage water to the RWZI south of the Hollandse IJssel. The various system types of free-flowing sewerage present in Gouda consist of overgrown, mixed, separated and improved separate sewerage.
