Description

The project is divided into 3 work packages, which have to be processed in parallel for some time:Work package 1: Calculation of a habitat model for Germany and collection of genetic samples - collection of any evidence of the pug bat (maternity house evidence, telemetry points, netting or caustic data as well as winter quarters) in Germany via data research using databases of other data administrators from all federal states (except city states),- Ensuring uniform quality and comparability of data and transformation into a uniform coordinate system,- as important components, geodata collected uniformly and comprehensively for the entire federal territory must be procured, taken as a basis and used for calculation. For this purpose, access to the land use data of the Official Topographical-Cartographic Information System and a digital terrain model of the Federal Office of Cartography and Geodesy is a mandatory requirement, which must be supplemented with the climate data of the German Weather Service. From the calculated habitat model, proposals for further recording areas must be worked out in order to validate the habitat model on a large scale,- the validation will be carried out in Baden-Württemberg within the framework of a Citizen Science project with employees of the project partners (ForstBW/FVA, NABU and other volunteers) to carry out the acoustic recording work. all acoustic data must be evaluated and in important cases post-mapped by means of netting and telemetry with the aim of finding new, previously unknown weekday rooms. Tissue samples will be taken from the captured animals and made available to the project partner for genetic testing.Work package 2: Development and implementation of measures in the model region,- Development and implementation of protection measures, as well as advice and training of the technical authorities (ForstBW/ FVA) in the implementation in the area, including - In-depth field studies (net catches, telemetry and acoustic recordings) in the model region around land use, neighbourhoods, population size Functional relationships and habitat structures as a basis for the target-oriented planning of measures,- Participation in a nationwide expert workshop with presentation of concrete protection measures,- Planning of area-specific protection measures including the different subhabitats (winter quarters, summer quarters in trees and buildings as well as swarming quarters) for the model region in coordination with the project partners in Baden-Württemberg.Work package 3: Participation in communication and public relations work,- Holding workshops and training courses for the employees of the project partners (ForstBW/ FVA, NABU) to carry out the acoustic recording work,- Preparation of an "Action Plan Pug Bat" for cooperative implementation by forest employees and volunteer conservationists,- Participation and support in the development and implementation of training courses on conservation measures for specific target groups (forest owners, district managers, forest employees, volunteer conservationists).
