Description

Intention to award the contract for services:- State Building Authority Passau;- University of Passau, Klostergarten - Extension at Spitzberg;- Place of execution: Passau;- Structural design Lph. 1 to 6.
The University of Passau will be extended by a new building for the International Science Centre, which will be located in the immediate vicinity of the existing university campus. The inner-city site at Spitzberg borders on the one hand on the existing buildings of the Bayerische Löwenbrauerei Franz Stockbauer AG Passau and on the other hand on the so-called "Laybrandhaus" via a municipal wall. 4,961 m2 of land are planned for the new building of the International Science Centre and a usable area of 4,774 m2 is planned. The space allocation plan essentially consists of a large lecture hall with concert facilities, a foyer, seminar rooms, cafeteria and offices for the university management.the new location on the Spitzberg is a gateway to the university for the city and a gateway to the city for the university, which should bring Passau and its university even closer together. The expectations of architecture and urban planning for the development of this site in its central downtown location on the western edge of Passau's old town are high. The adjacent railway line (vibration protection) and the cramped inner-city hillside location present particular challenges.
