1. Explore and identify the practice of aseptic preparation of medicines in healthcare establishments in other countries, for example, UK, other European countries, USA, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
a. Are national standards or international standards utilised?
b. Do countries possess legislative requirements to uphold the standards?
c. Oversight – is there a regulator overseeing the adherence to these standards?
d. How does the audit process work?
2. Make recommendations for the basis and approach to national QA standards to meet the needs of Irish hospital pharmacies so as to provide a safe, quality driven service.
