Scanning, indexing and, as a rule, recording of structural and metadata in the Kitodo.Production software platform as well as OCR recording of book, journal, archive and estate holdings from Hamburg libraries to the extent of approx. 600,000 scans according to specifications.

In addition, some of the volumes consist almost exclusively of illustrations. For these volumes the OCR is omitted. In the case of volumes consisting mainly of text, OCR is to be carried out. The selection will be made by the contractor by reviewing the scans. The Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) collection contains numerous maps and illustrations, some of which can be folded out, as well as other technical parameters according to the service description. DIN A4 as well as photos in individual cases.The documents also include paper printouts, inscriptions and negatives marked "blurred", which are not to be digitised.The scans are to be indexed purely chronologically per folder/directory unit as the top level in the order in which they are presented, without recording any further structural data.The indexing is not carried out in Kitodo, but in a separate directory structure according to the client's specifications.
