Description
The Commonwealth of Australia represented by the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD), a division of the Commonwealth Department of the Environment and Energy (Department) invites Tenders for the provision of traverse and mobile inland station vans in accordance with this Request for Tender.
The AAD is developing the capability to conduct overland traverse expeditions in support of the Million Year Ice Core Project; the aim of which is to obtain an ice core from one of the deepest regions of the Antarctic Ice Cap.
The traverse and mobile inland station vans form a key component of the capability being developed, which will permit scientific projects to be undertaken in remote areas of the Antarctic continent, resulting in the collection of unique and significant data which is unobtainable with existing capability.
Through this procurement, the Department is seeking a suitable Supplier to design, build and deliver 7 vans for accommodation and amenities for personnel engaged in both the overland traverse capability and the mobile inland station.
