Description

In this competition the Netherlands Space Office (NSO) and the Food Security Division of the Inclusive Green Growth (IGG) Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs challenge entrepreneurs to contribute to food security and sustainable land and water use in Africa and the Middle East by developing services that make existing open-access geographical (satellite) datasets more accessible and more widely usable. With this competition NSO and IGG want to gain more insight in factors that contribute to achieving impact and successful implementations of innovative services.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Change are making a total budget of € 600,000 available for this competition through the Netherlands Space Office. This total amount is divided over phase 1 and 2. A total budget of € 300,000 has been made available for phase 1 of the competition. A maximum budget of € 50,000 is available for each of the proposals in this phase. The three best-rated follow-up proposals will be admitted to phase 2. A total budget of € 300,000 is also available for this phase. Remaining budget of phase 1 can be transferred to phase 2. A budget of between € 60,000 and € 100,000 is available per project in phase 2 for the further development of a working prototype of the intended innovation.
