Description

As a commitment under Project Ireland 2040, a National Design Centre will be established as an incubation, training and demonstration capacity in the regions to support market-led innovation in Irish based enterprises to grow international sales.

In considering any major project initiative, there are usually a number of areas that must be addressed in order to scope out the size of the project, to understand and define its constituent elements, to mark out the range of its areas of focus and concern, and to set out the scale of ambition envisaged.

The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation is seeking tenders for a scoping document which will examine options and make recommendations on how best to address a number of specific points so that the National Design Centre will achieve its objectives.

Areas to be explored in this scoping document include options and recommendations for the following:

1. Business model for the Centre
2. Funding Model for the Centre
3. Governance Arrangements, Management Structure and Human Resource Requirements
4. Performance Monitoring and Enterprise Engagement Plan
5. Comparator Benchmarking
6. Location
7. Future-Proofing
8. Sustainability
9. Dispersal
10. Stakeholders
