FBO Post Title:  Request for Interested Manufacturers for the purchase of the Color Weather Radar (CWR) Receiver/Transmitter, used on board the HH-60G Helicopter with NSN 5841-01-363-2767SO
 SUBJECT:
Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the HH-60G CWR Receiver/Transmitter, NSN 5841-01-363-2767SO, Part Number 4000831-0106

ITEM DESCRIPTION

The HH-60G CWR Receiver/Transmitter, NSN 5841-01-363-2767SO, Part Number 4000831-0106, is used in the Color Weather Radar system on board the HH-60G Pave Hawk Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) helicopter. The CWR provides five primary modes of operation: 2 conventional weather avoidance modes, and 3 air-to-surface and detection modes:

•·       Search 1 incorporates special sea clutter rejection circuitry to help detect small boats or buoys down to a minimum range of 300 yards.
•·       Search 2 is designed for precision ground mapping, where high target resolution is important.
•·       Search 3 mode includes normal ground mapping and can also be used to detect and track prominent land objects and coastlines.

The RT functions as a short-range pulse radar for high resolution ground mapping and also as a long-range pulse radar for conventional weather avoidance. The reflected signal is received by the system's sector scanning antenna, amplified and digitized by the receiver transmitter and routed to the radar indicator. All system power requirements are routed via the receiver-transmitter unit to the antenna and indicator (except panel lamps).
The CWR Receiver/Transmitter is intended for use in military aircraft operations and it must meet the original Form, Fit and Function to be certified for the use on the HH-60G SOF/PR aircraft. It is a commercial item with the proprietary data belonging to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Telephonics Corporation.
