Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Brief Description of the Project
The project consists of repairing three (3) steel-wood type bridges located on the No. 2 trail in the Mauricie National Park at km 0,022 (Maximo 24429), km 2,402 (Maximo 24430), and km 10,941 (Maximo 24431). The total expected duration of this work is 5 weeks. The main works to be carried out for each of the structures are the following :
Bridge at km 0,022 (No. Maximo 24429)

Build a new guardrail on the existing deck (width kept between guardrails of ± 2,58 m).
Fill in the gap between existing decking planks to achieve a uniform surface.
Add wooden slides and signs to the approaches of the bridge.

Bridge at km 2,402 (No. Maximo 24430)

Completely demolish existing wooden decking (sleepers, decking, and wheel guards).
Replace the wooden pieces of the seats.
Fill the top of the wooden boxes (adding stones and granular materials).
Add steel bracing to ensure lateral retention of the beams.
Build a new decking (sleepers, decks, and wheel guards).
Add a wooden restraint on the deck and a safety net on it.
Reprofiling gravel approaches.
Add wooden slides and signs to the approaches.

Bridge at km 10,941 (No. Maximo 24431)

Completely demolish existing wooden decking (sleepers, decking, and wheel guards) and existing restraints.
Fill the top of the wooden boxes (adding granular materials).
Add steel bracing to ensure lateral retention of the beams.
Build a new decking (sleepers, decks, and wheel guards).
Build a new wooden restraint on the deck and a safety net on it.
Reprofiling gravel approaches.
Add wooden slides and signs to the approaches.

The objectives of the work are to allow the circulation of a maintenance vehicle and snow groomer on the bridges at km 2,402 and km 10,941. For the km 0,022 bridge, only pedestrian traffic will be allowed. No. 2 trail can be used for cross-country skiing for the 2019-2020 winter (without passing the snow groomer to draw the trail on the 0,022 km bridge).
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated at a value between $100 000,00 > $250 000,00 Taxes extra.
