Description

It wants a new robust RJPE software system, that:

- support the future growth of users
- will get seamless inputs from Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS)

The system being used by local government currently is used by:

- web site journey planners
- mobile device applications
- call centres
- external authorised customers that use the service through Web Services or Representational State Transfer Application Programme Interface (Rest API)

The current average used of the RJPE system is around 500,000 transactions per day.

The expected usage in 2030 is more than 1,000,000 transactions a day.

The RJPE must:

- remain active without downtime including during updates from input systems, to prevent service interruption
- provide a passenger journey plan result in less than 1 second
- be an "off the shelf" solution
- calculate the fastest route with the fewest train connections for a passenger trip
- manage the schedules history and calculate retroactively a journey plan according to past schedules
- provide additional data to the suggested journey plan like station accessibility, parking info, train occupancy and location
- support more than one future timetable
- function in cloud environment (such as Microsoft Azure) and local networks installations on premises
- update the system data without interrupting the service to customers
- note usage of third party solutions or components through the solution provider
- support scalability and redundancy mechanisms
- allow the administration environment to be supported by the web browser User Interface

The solution must be able to calculate trips including alternative transport like shuttle buses.

To bid, you must have:

- supplied a compatible solution for public transportation like trains, aviation and buses
- proven experience of at least 2 years in RJPE solutions, preferably for the railway sector
