Federal sample monitoring of bat species (Chiroptera) in Hesse 2020 to 2023.
As part of the implementation of the FFH monitoring in Hesse, all weekday nursery sites investigated in 2011 and 2016/2017 and other occurrences of the following 13 bat species are to be examined:- Broad-winged bat (Eptesicus serotinus);- Bechstein's bat (Myotis bechsteinii);- Great bearded bat (M. brandtii);- Great mouse-eared bat (M. myotis);- Small Bearded Bat (M. mystacinus);- Brown Long-eared Bat (Plecotus auritus);- Grey Long-eared Bat (P. austriacus);- Great Evening Swift (Nyctalus noctula);- Small Evening Swift (N. leisleri);- Pipistrelle (Pipistrellus pipistrellus);- Mosquito bat (P. pygmaeus);- Rough-skinned bat (P. nathusii);- Two-coloured bat (Vespertilio murinus).In addition, the following 4 species should be counted in predetermined wintering grounds:- water bat (Myotis daubentonii);- fringed bat (Myotis nattereri);- pond bat (Myotis dasycneme);- pug bat (Barbastella barbastellus).The monitoring is carried out according to the scheme of the nationwide random sampling procedure and according to the evaluation schemes of the species of Annexes II and IV of the FFH Directive as a basis for nationwide FFH monitoring and includes in particular the following services to be carried out:1a) Extensive data and literature research on the occurrence and distribution of bats in Hesse in the form of faunistic literature, expert opinion surveys, questioning of colleagues and area experts, Internet research and, if necessary 1b) Documentation of a data research,For the service parts 1a) and 1b) the client specifies a maximum volume of 160 hours.2) Preparatory work for terrain work on the basis of the documents and data provided by the customer via the MultiBaseCS Professional or Multibase CS Server software in version 4.2.0.50 or higher (e.g. species identification, delimitation of investigation areas, habitats, NSGs, LSGs, FFH areas, bird sanctuaries, BR-Rhön, NP Kellerwald-Edersee).) Recording of a total of 13 species in at least 92 week rooms as well as recording of a total of 4 species in winter quarters in the area in the colonies selected by the client from the years 2011 and 2016/2017 and, if necessary For service part 3) the client assumes a total volume of approx. 5,440 hours for the survey dates -night-; for the survey dates -day- the client assumes a total of approx. 1,020 hours.4a) Data input via the MultiBaseCS Professional or Multibase CS Server software in version 4.2.0.50 or higher by trained personnel of the contractor; for service part 4a) the client assumes a total volume of approx. 818 hours.4b) Participation of the employees involved in data entry in full-day or half-day training courses in accordance with the above-mentioned standard5) Evaluation of the monitoring in the form of an expert report (by 1.11.2023) incl. estimation of the total population sizes of the species in the respective study area and analysis of the current risk situation of the individual occurrences; preparation of 3 interim reports and a final report/monitoring expert report.For service part 5) the client assumes a volume of approx. 280 hours.6) Update of the species profiles of all 19 Hessian bat speciesFor the service part 6) the client assumes a volume of approx. 114 hours.7) Preparation of multibase profiles for the homepage of the HLNUGFor the service part 7) the client assumes a volume of approx. 50 hours.
