Description

Within the framework of the publicly funded project "Use of virtual systems for the accompanying support of trainees in the inter-company training of the ME industry", the Gemeinschafts-Lehrwerkstatt Arnsberg GmbH (GLW) is inviting tenders for the following contract after the award of contract: "Procurement of a conventional milling machine according to performance specifications".

Objective of aid
Demographic development and structural change are leading to a decline in the number of potential trainees, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Against this backdrop, it will be crucial for companies in the future to make full use of training potential and thus counteract the shortage of skilled labour. The metal and electrical industry is also confronted with this situation, some of which place very high demands on trainees. Above all, the complexity of machines and systems and the extent of digitalisation in the world of work and training are constantly increasing. This, in turn, requires a steadily increasing amount of personnel to provide appropriate support for the trainees during their in-company training. It is therefore becoming increasingly important for inter-company training centres such as the Gemeinschafts-Lehrwerkstatt Arnsberg GmbH (GLW) to adapt their existing strategies for securing skilled workers to these framework conditions in order to achieve well-trained employees in the long term. Against this background, the special attention of GLW aims at taking up digitalised and methodical-didactic developments and integrating them into the inter-company training.

Purpose of the project
The GLW as an inter-company vocational training centre (ÜBS) in the chamber district of the Arnsberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) pursues the goal of expanding its competencies in the training of metalworking occupations through the technological use of virtual, digitalised processes. Accompanied by so-called assistance systems, project-related situations are to be created in the GLW with the aim of promoting and further developing the trainees' competence to act. The GLW is to be developed into a centre of excellence with funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with the support of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) so that it will be able to meet the demands of its clients in the near future and respond to the motivations, performance and willingness to perform of the trainees. Within the framework of the present project, in addition to cooperation with universities, vocational schools and other training facilities, existing technologies and competences of machine tool manufacturers with technical know-how will be used in particular.
