Description

The following aspects are important for the overdesign of the dam section:- The stability has to be verified in detail according to DIN 19712. The slopes on the land and water side, some of which are too steep, are to be flattened and load bearing areas are to be provided on the land side,- Special construction methods may be required in confined conditions,- If dam sections are to be preserved, the structural stability of the dam is to be verified.- The height of the freeboard (distance between the design water level and the top of the dam) is in some sections less than the 80 cm agreed between the states - In case of missing or insufficient dam defence routes, access is usually not guaranteed when damming up, so that no dam defence with large technical equipment is possible In the course of planning, variants must also be examined - Various protected areas are designated in the planning sections. Dam XXIII (KARA2) is directly connected to the Plittersdorf district in the Plittersdorf section. Likewise, the recreational facility "Rastatter Freizeitparadies" is located directly at Dam XXIII, and a pumping station is located at about dam km 5 + 600 on the Rhine lowland canal. In addition, between Wintersdorf and Plittersdorf, the Bannwasserschleuse is located in the dam at about dam km 6 + 700 and the Wißbeltschleuse at about dam km 9 + 000. There is no information available about other existing structures. The planned expansion and renovation measures require planning approval in accordance with § 68 Water Resources Act (WHG) and § 55 Water Act Baden-Württemberg (WG). The contents of the planning approval are essentially:- the extension of dams;- the new construction and the rerouting of dam sections;- the approvals under road traffic law in the area of embankments and crossings;- the exceptions and exemptions under nature conservation law for the implementation of the measure;- the approval for the conversion of forest areas;- the approval for the conversion of agriculturally used areas;- the creation of compensation areas and the construction of new dams;- the approval of the construction of new dams and the rerouting of existing dam sections;- the approval of the construction of new dams and the rerouting of existing dam sections;- the approval of the implementation of the measure under nature conservation law;- the approval for the conversion of forest areas;- the approval for the conversion of agriculturally used areas;- the creation of compensation areas and the approval of the city of Karlsruhe. a.For the sake of procedural security, the UVU and the participation of the public bodies are to be concluded before the planning documents are disclosed.the public participation is to take place in accordance with the requirements of the state of Baden-Württemberg.
