Description
Different pectenotoxins (PTX) have been reported in bivalve molluscan shellfish. MPI needs evidence to determine why and how MPI should regulate PTX in bivalve molluscs in New Zealand.
MPI requires the analysis of existing biotoxin testing data (provided by MPI) on the presence of PTX in bivalve molluscan shellfish in New Zealand and a review of international literature on the food safety risk of PTX and risk management options available of PTX.
