France - Network connections

Description

The DCSI would like to start the technical integration of its member municipalities in order to accommodate the municipal IT parks and network equipment on its infrastructures, as well as to put into production a certain number of services that are planned as part of the DCSI membership (antivirus for the urban area, secure data backup and storage, management of workstation user environments, implementation of tools on the workstations for IT support, etc.).Some member municipalities already have ARC fibre optics within their town halls, thanks to their historical connection to the Inter-municipal Supervision Centre (CSI). These connections will evolve technically to offer new services. Other municipalities will be connected to the ARC fibre because of their proximity to the Teloise network. The other member municipalities will be connected via leased operator links.
The connection of each of the communes that are members of the DCSI to the ARC network requires the supply of network equipment and associated services. Three actions will have to be carried out:1) an essential evolution of the arc's core network in order to have a quality, reliable and secure network for the arc and its member communes thanks to:- the installation of two redundant core network infrastructures located at the Town Hall and the CSI,- the installation of a very high-speed interconnection between the two sites;2) an evolution of the central infrastructure of the information systems to accommodate the connection of the member communes through:- the installation of two redundant firewalls (located at the Town Hall and the CSI) allowing a secure connection of the communes,- the installation of a management tool for all the network equipment,- the deployment of a wifi controller allowing the control of the communal wifi networks;3) in each member commune, the supply of network equipment and associated services enabling the connection of the commune (firewall and network switch enabling connection, computer cabling work, installation of wifi equipment, upgrading of the existing physical or logical network, etc.).
