Description
The National University of Ireland, Galway wants Pianos
The pianos are required for use by staff and students in the University’s new BA in Music. This course offers a BA in Music and one other subject. It allows students to develop an understanding of the history, theory and practice of music. It is especially well suited to those who wish to teach music after graduation; students also receive training in arts management and other transferable professional skills. Tender's are invited to bid for the supply of pianos with the following specifications:
NUI Galway will require a higher specification upright piano for practice rooms, in which hardwood shell and wooden action is essential, not just desirable.
In addition, a lower specification upright piano for staff offices will suffice with a plastic action and laminated plywood soundboard.
— hardwood shell
— wooden action
— spruce soundboard, seasoned for around 10 years
— back bracing
— high-quality steel strings
— 88 keys
— 3 pedals
— dark finish (black, dark walnut, mahogany)
— (baby grand pianos) 2 prop positions with a prop safety stop
