Description
The Rosemount Environmental Research Station at University College Dublin requires an update for its climate controlled growth facility (RCCGF). The RCCGF consists of 15 growth chambers: 8 large Conviron BDW40 walk-in growth chambers and 7 Conviron BDR16 reach-in growth chambers. The RCCGF is used for crop breeding, to study plant growth under future climate scenarios and for environmental studies. The platform supports research projects of a large number of groups in the School of Biology and Environmental Science and in the School of Agriculture and Food Science. The RCCGF is thus used for a range of different plant species, including wheat, barley, hemp, gymnosperms, ferns and mosses, and model species like Arabidopsis and Brachypodium.
UCD want to retrofit all 15 growth chambers with state-of-the-art LED lighting to decrease running costs and increase versatility of the chambers. The upgrade has to be of very high quality and needs to be fully integrated in the growth chambers. All components required for the upgrade should be provided.
