Description

As part of the commissioning of a new line of a particle accelerator, the CEA has to install several radiation protection shields around the elements of a lithium loop used as a target to produce neutrons.the loop is installed in an enclosure whose interior must remain accessible to operators. To limit the risks of material activation and contamination, it is necessary to provide devices to ensure biological protection. To meet this requirement, the CEA wishes to have three sarcophagus-type shields (lead shielding in a steel skin) made. The contract covers the design, production and delivery to the CEA Paris-Saclay site of the three shields mentioned above, based on a preliminary design carried out by the CEA.
The CEA has already carried out a preliminary design of the three shields whose manufacture is requested. However, it is the responsibility of the contractor to:- carry out a detailed study of these shields in compliance with the constraints (space requirements, materials and partition of the assemblies in particular) given by the CEA,- manufacture, check these shields and deliver them to the CEA Paris-Saclay site with the associated documentation.
