Framework agreement for equipping the automation laboratory at the Berufskolleg TechnikThe district of Siegen-Wittgenstein, as the school authority of the Berufskolleg Technik, is obliged under § 79 of the North Rhine-Westphalia School Act to provide the teaching materials required for proper teaching and to make available equipment that is oriented towards the general state of the art in technology and information technology. In the area of IT equipment in schools, school authorities can apply for corresponding funding from the "DigitalPakt Schule" (Digital Pact for Schools) to implement this obligation.Already in the years 2017 to 2019, an "Industry 4.0" laboratory was established at the Berufskolleg Technik, which teaches students skills in the context of training and further education in order to meet the increasing digitalization in industrial companies with appropriate solutions. The Berufskolleg Technik strives for a sustainable and continuous development of the laboratory equipment. In particular, practical laboratories offer the opportunity to visualise technologies and processes of industrial production in a comprehensible way and ensure training that is appropriate to the competition. The requirements of regional companies and other educational partners must also be taken into account. It is a prerequisite for the training companies that the theoretical training of the trainees is oriented towards the applied technologies in the companies and that these are depicted realistically. In order to implement and methodically expand the existing "Industry 4.0" laboratory, the Berufskolleg Technik therefore intends to equip an automation laboratory. The automation laboratory contains the relevant technologies and components to provide the trainees with comprehensive "Industry 4.0" knowledge. The trainees are thus given the opportunity to get to know systems as a module and to put them into operation in a didactically reduced way. By breaking down the overall concept into semi-autonomous units, the trainees can be given the opportunity to train the knowledge required in the company and at the same time create the foundations and prerequisites for the complex structures in the existing laboratory.The service includes the supply of modular learning systems to supplement the existing Smart Factory at the Berufskolleg Technik and comprises the equipping of 16 student workstations with pallet transfer systems, application modules and laboratory workbenches.
