Development of a Nextcloud extension with the aim of enabling federated content sharing via Virtual Organisations (VO).*** The contracting authority assumes a significant internal market relevance and has therefore decided to issue a Europe-wide call for tenders. However, the estimated contract value is below the EU threshold.***
The Cloud Cluster of the incubator platform HIFIS (Helmholtz Federated IT Services) is tasked with building and operating a Helmholtz Cloud in which existing, outstanding IT services of the members of the Helmholtz Association will be made available to the entire community. The Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) plays the coordinating role in the HIFIS Cloud Cluster and already operates various Nextcloud instances in the Helmholtz Association. Since the goal of the Helmholtz Cloud is not the consolidation of multiple existing services, a new way of federation is to be developed across these already existing Nextcloud instances. This is intended to enable project-oriented, collaborative work across the instances while maintaining data protection. However, this should also enable the centres to federate their Nextcloud instances in the same way with institutions outside the Helmholtz Association, where other sync&share software is often used.The procurement is intended to create a "VO Federation App" for the Nextcloud software for the Helmholtz Cloud, which fulfils the following conditions:- Sharing content with virtual organisations across Nextcloud instances- Open source software licensed under GNU GPLv3- Safeguarding data protection- Maintenance of the developed software for two years after acceptanceSubject of the procurement project:1. Development of the software in accordance with the performance specification,2. Maintenance of the software in accordance with the performance specification, with the option for further feature enhancements during the maintenance period.
