Description

Since the beginning of 2019, Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund GmbH (RMV) has been operating WLAN hotspots at over 600 stationary ticket machines (sTA).the object of the award is to create the contractual basis for the provision of ISP services and the provision of a background system to ensure the operation of WLAN hotspots at the existing sTA or the later commencement of operation of WLAN hotspots at other locations (optional). On behalf of its parent company RMV, Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund Servicegesellschaft mbH (rms) is awarding the operation of the WLAN hotspots (background system and ISP services) here. The Contractor (rms) provides the tools necessary for the design of the customer interface so that the Client can provide its customers with a free public Internet connection without having to assume liability risks itself. The technology required for operation is already available in the stationary ticket machines and will continue to be used. The WLAN hotspots are supplied with data via mobile radio. Here, an existing, separate framework agreement between the AG and a mobile phone provider is used.
Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund GmbH (RMV) has been operating WLAN hotspots at over 600 stationary ticket vending machines (sTA) in its network area since the beginning of 2019. With this offer of free Internet access at the stations, RMV is providing significant added value along the travel chain.the object of the contract is to create the contractual basis for the provision of ISP services and the provision of a background system to ensure the operation of WLAN hotspots at the existing sTAs or the later commencement of operation of WLAN hotspots at other locations such as mobility centres (optional). The operation of WLAN hotspots at the first sTA is to start from 2.11.2020. From 1.1.2021, all existing WLAN hotspots in the sTAs are to be operated by the AN. On behalf of its parent company RMV, Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund Servicegesellschaft mbH (rms) will award the operation of the WLAN hotspots (background system and ISP service) here. The Contractor shall provide the instruments required for the design of the customer interface, so that the Principal or RMV can provide its customers (end users) with a free public Internet access without having to assume liability risks in connection with the use of the Internet itself. The services to be provided by the Contractor shall include in particular the operation of Internet access via radio-based WLAN routers (WLAN hotspots) at stationary ticket machines (sTA) within the area of responsibility of RMV and, if applicable, the operation of Internet access via radio-based WLAN routers (WLAN hotspots) at stationary ticket machines (sTA) within the area of responsibility of RMV. the provision of a login page including support for the hotspot users;- the provision of a background portal including support for the Principal;- and acting as a telecommunications service provider (Internet service provider (ISP)) for the hotspot users;- the technology required for operation (routers, antennas etc.) is already available in the stationary ticket machines and will continue to be used. The procurement as well as the installation, maintenance and power supply of the hardware required for the operation of the WLAN hotspots is therefore not subject of this contract. The WLAN hotspots are supplied with data via mobile radio. In this case, an existing, separate framework agreement between the AG and a mobile phone provider is used. The provision of the data volume is therefore also not subject of this contract. Furthermore, the connection of stationary ticket machines for data exchange within the framework of sales-relevant processes is not the subject matter. This data exchange takes place independently of the operation of the WLAN hotspots.
