Description

The construction project involves the renewal of the casino kitchen including all technical equipment, the expenditure area and the staff rooms on the mezzanine floor as well as the upgrading of the fire protection in the existing building, while the requirements of the preservation of historical monuments must be observed.
The area of the Deutsche Bundesbank's Head Office in Frankfurt am Main is located in the city centre, in Taunusanlage 3-5. The company casino is located on the first floor of the former Reichsbank building in Taunusanlage 4. The ground floor of the building also contains 2 historic meeting rooms and 7 apartments on the two upper floors (2nd and 3rd floor). The building dates back to the 1930s, was completely renovated in the 1980s and is a listed building. The construction project involves the renovation of the casino kitchen including all technical equipment, the expenditure area and the staff rooms on the mezzanine floor as well as the upgrading of the fire protection in the existing building. The gross floor area of the project area is approx. 4,460 m2. The company restaurant, the kitchen and the two meeting rooms on the ground floor will remain closed for one year during the entire construction work, while the apartments on the upper floors will continue to be used by the tenants. All other buildings on the site will be in operation during the construction phase.on the first floor, the existing casino kitchen will be completely dismantled and replaced by a new kitchen (kitchen block) with all necessary ancillary rooms (cold storage, salad preparation, office chef etc.) and a new scullery including wet waste disposal. The expenditure area will also be renewed and enlarged. There will be 3 serving counters with various functions (wok, pizza oven...), a salad counter for self-service, water taps and a beverage refrigerator. In the future, the tray return will be carried out via a tray return conveyor, so that the restaurant area is largely retained. During the construction phase, however, the ceilings will be dismantled in order to renew or upgrade the ventilation, sanitary and electrical installations and fire protection systems. The central unit of the ventilation system is located in the basement of the neighbouring building of the villa, therefore the whole building is affected by the construction measures. After completion of the work, the ceilings in the casino will be restored as before in the existing building. The existing furniture (tables and chairs) will be refurbished and used again. In the course of the construction work, the window glazing in the kitchen and casino area (1st floor) will be replaced. A new technical room will be installed in the basement. The showers and toilets in the fitness area on the 2nd basement floor, the visitor toilets on the ground floor and in the mezzanine floor, as well as the staff changing rooms with toilets and showers in the basement will be renewed.Existing building pollutants will be professionally removed and disposed of in accordance with the legal and sub-legal requirements, the coordination with the RP Darmstadt, Department of Occupational Safety and Environment and the investigation report and pollutant/hazardous substance concept of 8.10.2017. A fire protection concept is available.
