Description
Galway City Council are responsible for the aftercare and maintenance of a closed landfill facility at Carrowbrowne, Galway. The site is located approximately 4miles north of Galway City adjacent to the N84.
The landfill is closed since circa 1997 and during restoration a gas collection system was installed which is made up of 31 gas wells connected to an enclosed flare stack for the purposes of reducing emissions as required under the facility's EPA waste License (w13-01). In addition there are 9no. Perimeter gas monitoring points that are required to be monitored weekly.
Galway City Council are seeking a suitable service provider to provide management of this gas network on site for the provision of service. The service should ensure that maximum gas is extracted from the landfill at all times to ensure minimum pollution to the atmosphere from the landfill gases present.
