Description
Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT) intends to establish a single participant framework agreement for refurbishment and minor works at the LYIT School of Tourism Killybegs to be undertaken on a phased basis in accordance with the availability of funding. The proposed framework agreement will operate for contracts awarded within a maximum of 4 years from the date of establishment of the framework. For the avoidance of doubt, LYIT confirms that the period of any contracts awarded under the framework agreement may extend beyond the date of expiry of the agreement. The estimated total value of all contracts procured under the proposed framework will be up to €2.5 million. It is emphasised, however, that this figure is provided strictly for indicative purposes only as there is no guaranteed expenditure under the framework agreement. Individual contracts may vary from circa €0.1m to €1.5m. The framework contractor will be appointed using the open procedure. LYIT SOT Phase 1b Refurbishment Works 2019 will be the initial contract establishing the framework. This contract comprises both external and internal refurbishment works on a heritage building.
The works will be carried out under the direction of a conservation Architect and will comprise of the reconfiguration / redevelopment of: the existing Training bar OB206 as a new Library (109 m2), including removal of fitted furniture from an adjacent building and re-fitting in the new library; Meeting room OB 207 as a collaborative study room (53 m2) complete with fixed collaborative desks; and Classroom OB 208 as a new demonstration bar (75 m2). Works throughout rooms OB 206, 207 and 208 will include the installation of 1-hour fire stopping to the underside of floors above, replacement of external windows and new floor, wall and ceiling finishes. Works will also include the removal of the existing 2-floor passenger lift, extension of the lift shaft to serve 3 floors and installation of a new traction lift.
