Description

The Transparency Register for Health Care (TRZ) contains information about certain financial relationships that health care professionals, collaborative ventures of health care professionals, health care institutions and patient organisations have with pharmaceutical companies and medical device companies. Every year the TRZ publishes a report about the various aspects of the reported financial relationships in the past year. On the basis of Article 13c, subsection 2, of the BIG Act (Wet op de beroepen in de individuele gezondheidszorg) the Minister of VWS must send an evaluation report on the TRZ to the House of Representatives every year. Section 13c, subsection 2, of the BIG Act stipulates that the evaluation report must focus on the effectiveness and effects of the Transparency Register. The intended result is to compile a representative evaluation report each year, in which the research questions are answered.
The Transparency Register for Health Care (TRZ) contains information about certain financial relationships that health care professionals, collaborative ventures of health care professionals, health care institutions and patient organisations have with pharmaceutical and medical device companies. The TRZ is managed by the Transparency Register Healthcare Foundation (STZ), to which the umbrella organisations of healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies and medical device companies are linked via a Supervisory Board. Every year the TRZ publishes a report on the various aspects of the reported financial relationships in the past year. On the basis of Article 13c, second paragraph of the Wet BIG (Individual Healthcare Professions Act) the Minister of VWS must send an annual evaluation report on the TRZ to the House of Representatives. This article came into force on 1 January 2018. Section 13c(2) of the BIG Act stipulates that the evaluation report must focus on the effectiveness and effects of the Transparency Register. The intended result is to produce a representative evaluation report each year, which answers the research questions. The evaluation report must also be presented to the Second Chamber by the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport.
