Request for Information (RFI)
Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS), which manages and operates portions of the Savannah River Site (SRS) under a Department of Energy (DOE) prime contract, solicits expressions of interest from companies capable of providing a mobile data destruction service of classified computer equipment and media at SRS for legitimate recycling as scrap metal recycling in accordance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. This RFI is issued to assist with finding potential suppliers interested in this solicitation.
The SRS is located approximately 15 miles south of Aiken, South Carolina and is 310 contiguous square miles.
Interested companies should be capable of providing electronics and media destructions services on-premises utilizing a vehicle capable of destruction of electronic circuit boards and various storage media. Sanitization must meet guidelines of NIST SP 800-88 and be completed using approved methods: disintegration, pulverization, melting, or shredding. Destruction of storage devices must use an NSA approved device. Personnel performing destruction activities be required to gain site visitor access and must be escorted while destruction activities are occurring.
A copy of the "Bill of Lading" and "Certificate of Recycling" (or like form) will be required to be submitted to SRNS, verifying that the shredded material has been removed and received by the recycling facility for legitimate recycling.
A supplier's response to this RFI does not guarantee they will be selected to participate in the Request for Proposal (RFP).
Interested suppliers responding to this RFI should provide evidence of capabilities and performance if interested in receiving the RFP. Examples include: third party certifications, evidence of independent audits of disposal operations, list of customer references, and list end of life waste vendors.
