Description
The objectives and work needed for the project are
1) To develop integrated strategies, concepts, action plans and prioritised investment programs for the development of new sustainable tourism destinations.
This includes promotion, branding and marketing strategies, action plans and related Monitoring and Evaluation systems, to enhance economic outcomes for the local economies of:
a. Fergana Valley tourism circuit
b. Bukhara region
c. Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions
2) Support the ongoing and planned marketing and promotion efforts of the State Committee of Tourism Development by assessing and improving its tourist portal and website
This will include providing recommendations on updating its:
- marketing and branding strategy
- promotional webpages
- other material for the regions
3) advise on the design of a regional level tourism Monitoring and Evaluation system to:
- monitor and manage regional level tourism trends
- benchmark regions and their municipalities in Uzbekistan travel and tourism industry via comparable regions and municipalities of other countries
Funding has been received from the World Bank for this project. The government will use part of the funding for this consultancy.
