Description

Roughan & O’Donovan Consulting Engineers (ROD) have been engaged by Waterford City & County Council (WCCC) to undertake the preliminary and detailed design required for the Waterford City Public Infrastructure Project. This includes Road Access Infrastructure along Dock Road and in the vicinity of Abbey road and a Transport Hub (Train station & platforms, footbridges at the east and west ends of the station platforms and the Hub set down area). The project also involves alterations to existing Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) infrastructure including permanent way and signalling. The permanent track work, including the reinstatement and realignment of double track in the vicinity of the proposed new railway station; and signalling works to facilitate the new station/ track layout. The proposed track and signalling works are within the remit of Iarnród Éireann.In addition to the requirements of the Waterford City and County Council, Iarnród Éireann requires a Commission for Railway Regulation (CRR) Authorisation to Place Into Service (APIS) in accordance with Railway Safety Act 2005, Interoperability Directive 2008/57/EC and Railway Safety Directive 2004/49/EC. As part of this process a Notified Body (NoBo) is required to carry out an independent assessment (Assessment of Compliance) to ensure compliance with all the latest requirements provided by the CRR. This RFT is issued to award a contract to carry out this NoBo assessment.
