Description
The Directorate of Honours and Awards (DH&A) within the Department of Defence is responsible for timely and appropriate recognition of service by members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF), the veteran community and Defence employees of the Australian Public Service (APS).
DH&A currently issues, on average, 30,000 medals and awards each year, many of which must be engraved prior to dispatch.
