Description

Cork County Council, as custodians of St Mary’s Collegiate Church, Youghal, the substantial medieval parish church of the major medieval walled port town, is seeking to appoint an experienced Interpretative Consultant to collaboratively plan, design, manufacture and deliver the Voices of St Mary’s visitor experience. The project will be in two phases, delivered under one contract. Phase 1 involves detailed interpretation planning, and following sign-off moves to the next phase. Phase 2 involves the procurement, manufacturing and delivery of the visitor experience. Key to the successful execution of the contract will be the delivery of five key elements; a visitor reception area within the body of the church, use of interpretation media, development of an audio guide, enhancement of the existing guided tour, and new self-guiding leaflets. With the support of Fáilte Ireland, the new visitor experience for this active place of worship will be sensitively designed to deliver a character-driven storyline. The storyline will be based on the people of the place and how its origin, development, history and relevance as a major community focal point from medieval times to today, can be viewed through their eyes, their stories and their experiences. Detailed information on the tender requirements, form of tender, submission deadlines and assessment criteria are contained within the Voices of St Mary’s briefing document.
