Description

You must be a UK brand, manufacturer or retailer that is able to provide high-quality consumer goods across a range of categories.

Amazon.ae is a general merchandise marketplace with hundreds of product categories and:

- is the largest e-commerce retailer in the United Arab Emirates
- has over 50% of the market in the UAE and services customers in both English and Arabic languages
- has 25 product categories and over 30 million product listings

Platform commissions range from 10% to 15%. There are no upfront costs.

Amazon launched its membership programme Prime, in the UAE in June 2019. For sellers using Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), this gives them access to Amazon’s most loyal customers. It can store, pack and deliver sellers’ products, as well as provide customer service and handle returns.

Non FBA sellers need to offer customer service in Arabic if needed. This can be outsourced to providers in the UK for reasonable rates.

Amazon use a catalogue system that matches products to existing listings, so European Article Numbering is required. Where a branded item already exists, you can list inventory against it without having to provide localised product content.

It offers a range of marketing options in other regions including:

- sponsored products
- product ads

These features may be in development for Amazon.ae.

UAE e-commerce is growing at 30% annually, above the global average. Consumers in the UAE spend as much or more than counterparts in the UK each time they shop online.
E-commerce represents a small percentage of UAE retail spending so has potential for growth.

Details will be provided by your category manager when you join the platform.
