At the future transition between town and countryside, an ensemble consisting of a regional school, primary school with after-school care and a sports hall with canteen is being built on a 7-hectare site with the "New School Campus" Zarrentin. The three polygonal buildings are arranged around a central campus square. The two-storey buildings are designed in reinforced concrete with a light-coloured facing stone façade. The roofs are flat sloping and extensively planted with greenery. The two school buildings have an inner courtyard. The individual schools are each assigned quiet, manageable outdoor areas for games and breaks. Both schools have a spacious two-storey foyer with an open staircase. There are 2 staircases and an elevator for further development. The ground floor of the Regional School houses the administration and some subject classes. On the upper floor there are subject classes and general classrooms. On the ground floor of the primary school with after-school care is the teachers' room and the subject classes of the primary school. The after-school care area is also located here. The general classrooms are located on the upper floor. All classrooms are naturally ventilated. The corridors are spacious and offer space for free play areas. The Zweifeldsporthalle is used for school sports as well as by clubs. The hall can be divided into 2 parts by a dividing curtain in the middle. The OKFF of the sports hall is 1 m lower than the rest of the building. The hall has a baffle wall on three sides up to 2 m high. On the fourth side is the grandstand. Attached to the sports hall are 2 equipment rooms. There is a changing area with 2 ladies and 2 men's changing rooms. On the upper floor of the Zweifeldsporthalle with refectory is the technical supply for all three buildings. The canteen is used by both schools and offers 152 seats. The cafeteria kitchen is planned as a serving and regeneration kitchen. As a first step, the development of the campus area was started. Construction of the building for the regional school is scheduled to begin in December of this year. The start of construction for the Zweifeldsporthalle with refectory is in spring 2021 and for the primary school/after-school in summer 2021. The overall completion of the school campus is scheduled for the beginning of 2023.
