Description

The Berlin Research Association (Forschungsverbund Berlin e. V.) (FVB) supports a total of eight natural, life and environmental science research institutes in Berlin which, while maintaining their scientific independence, pursue common interests within the framework of a uniform legal personality. The corporate IT of the FVB provides, among other things, network-wide applications and IT resources for the business processes of the network administration as well as services for the IT departments of the institutes. Within the Forschungsverbund Berlin, a number of Next Generation Firewall solutions are currently being operated in redundant Active Standby configuration. Some of the existing systems are set for 2019 EOL by the manufacturer. This, as well as the reduction of running costs and the relief of the technical personnel, results in the necessity for the research association and the institutes to replace the existing systems and to tender for a new comprehensive maintenance and operator contract. There is also an urgent need to consolidate the respective solutions, to operate them and to expand suitable protective measures. For the reasons mentioned above, the demand for a modern firewall solution and the constantly increasing volume of data, there is a need for a high-performance and fail-safe FW solution that meets current and future requirements. The advertised services include: - Establishment of internal firewall solutions for the following areas and institutes, - HA cluster for joint administration of the FVB, IKZ, MBI, FBH (location Berlin Adlershof), - HA cluster for WIAS (location Berlin Mitte), 3 / 3 - HA cluster for IGB (Müggelseedamm/Neuglobsow site), - the measures described include installation, commissioning and migration, - performance of system tests, - training measures, - conclusion of a comprehensive maintenance and operator contract for a term of 4 years including an option of extension.
