Description

Mary Immaculate College would like to invite tenders for the supply, implementation, maintenance and support of a Library Services Platform (LSP); this next generation system will enable the Library to both maximise potential efficiencies in work-flows and processes and extend efficiencies currently underway; Mary Immaculate College expects this new system will provide a unified resource management approach to the full range of Library services; and in particular to the management of our collections both in print and online. This new system will ensure that staff, researchers and students of both our Limerick and Thurles Campuses will have access to a learning environment that enhances their interaction and engagement.
The College requires a system which will manage our print and online collections; our extensive range of electronic resources and enable our growing collection of special collections to be discoverable via the discovery system.
We are seeking a solution from a supplier who will provide both support and an ongoing, integrated development path for the system. We are an evolving Library and are looking for an agile approach to technological development and deployment. While we want to build an ongoing relationship with the successful supplier, the cost effectiveness of the solution is also a significant factor.
It is imperative that the system offers modern APIs and data manipulation capabilities. Suppliers must be able to demonstrate the ability to transmit and receive information from a variety of on and off-premise services using appropriate open standards. Mary Immaculate College would expect the LSP to communicate as seamlessly as possible with other systems in the Library, e.g. the Mary Immaculate Research Repository on DSpace, and provide excellent integration with College systems such as its student information system (currently Tribal but moving to Capita Unit-e), Agresso and Intelligo Systems (MegaHR).
