Description
The municipality of The Hague is obliged to store and manage all archive material, both analogue and digital, in an archive repository. Since the 1990s the municipality has been working increasingly digitally. Citizens must be able to deal with all their affairs with the government digitally. A lot of information is therefore created digitally and must be stored and managed digitally. Working with 'digitally born' information requires a different method of working and different knowledge than with paper archives. To manage and make digital collections available in a sustainable and reliable way in the future, the municipality is working on a new storage environment: the e-depot.
