The "Métro Nord" project consists of the extension of the Brussels metro line 3 in the direction of Schaerbeek and Evere, which will carry some 37 000 000 passengers a year. The new line will be 5 km long and have seven stations: four in Schaerbeek (Liedts, Colignon, Verboekhoven, Riga) and three in Evere (Tilleul, Paix, Bordet). Several of these stations will be intermodal stations with train (S-Bahn), bus, bicycle and/or tram. The new metro tunnel, with a diameter of 9.80 m, will be built by tunnel boring machine, except for the passage under the grill of the Chemin de la Gare du Nord. A new depot will be built on the STIB site in Haren at the end of the line. The project also includes the construction of ancillary works, mainly for passenger evacuation. The hyper coordination zone covers more than 7 km2 and will be fixed and published to the monitor at a later date. In order to be able to carry out the tasks of the hyper pilot, Beliris is looking for a team of experts who will be in charge of different tasks during the future course of the project.
