The new Technical University of Nuremberg (UTN) will be built on a site of approx. 37 ha. in the south of Nuremberg. The 1st development stage of the UTN, the so-called 5 foundation buildings (GGB), is divided into 3 partial construction measures (TBM). The 2nd TBM is the new construction of the Department of Mechatronic Engineering (ME; approx. 6400 sqm NUF 1-6) and the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE; approx. 2,800 sqm NUF 1-6). A general planner is to be commissioned for the structural engineering services for the two buildings for work phases 2 to 9. Services are in particular: Building planning (incl. fire protection planning and energy planning services), structural design, technical equipment HLS and technical equipment Elt, as well as consulting for sustainable construction. UTN has been selected as a lighthouse project for timber construction. It is a great concern of the awarding authority to be able to transport the image of the innovative, climate-conscious and sustainable university also through the materiality, construction and design of the building.
The foundation buildings with a usable area (NUF 1-6) of 17,700 m2 are divided into three partial construction measures (TBM) with 5 individual buildings and the total costs (KG 200-600) amount to approx. 103.6 million €. The development measure guarantees the infrastructural and supply-technical functionality of the GGB and at the same time forms the perimeter of the entire first development stage as well as the connection to the public transport network. In addition, the EM1 will deal with all licensing issues. In addition to area measures (terrain, supply/routes), central facilities for supply and disposal (including parking garage, energy center with control room and a logistics center) as well as the routes of the supply media are to be realized. The 2nd partial construction measure of the GGB is the new construction of the Department of Mechatronic Engineering (ME) and the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE). The new building for the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) amounts to approx. 2,800 NUF (1-7) - of which approx. 500 sqm is laboratory space - and has different functions: Office space for professors and staff, an electrical engineering laboratory and an equipment laboratory, as well as project workrooms for students and seminar rooms. Approximately 125 workstations are planned. The new building for the Department of Mechatronic & Engineering (ME) is 6,400 sqm NUF (1-7) - of which approx. 3,500 sqm is laboratory space - and has different functions: Offices for professors and staff, technological laboratories, an electrical engineering laboratory and a chemical engineering laboratory, as well as project workrooms for students and seminar rooms. Approximately 120 workstations are planned. In the Department of Mechatronic Engineering, the interdisciplinary cooperation of the subjects of electrical engineering, computer science and mechanical engineering is to be realized. The purpose of the department is the holistic, interdisciplinary modeling and simulation, design optimization and computer-aided design technology. At the TU Nuremberg it will be possible, in cooperation with other departments, to cover the following scales of mechatronics: classical macro scale, micro scale, nano scale and biological mechatronics.The advertised scope of services of the general planner includes the following positions according to HOAI 2021:- Partial general planning (incl. Object planning for buildings (ARC) according to § 34 HOAI, incl. services of energy planning- Specialized planning for fire protection (BSP) according to Art 51 BayBo and §11 Abs. 1BauVorV- Specialized planning for thermal building physics- Specialized planning for building acoustics- Specialized planning service of structural design (TWO) according to § 49 HOAI- Specialized planning service for technical equipment (TGA), LPH2-9 acc. §55 HOAI for the following plant groups (ALG) according to §53 HOAI 2021:o ALG 1, Waste water, water and gas plantso ALG 2, Heat supply plantso ALG 3, Ventilation plantso ALG 7, Use-specific plants and process plantso ALG 8, Building automation- Specialist planning service for technical equipment (TGA) LPH2-9 according to §53 HOAI 2021. §55 HOAI for the following plant groups (ALG) according to §53 HOAI 2021: o ALG 4, heavy current plantso ALG 5, telecommunication and information technology plantso ALG 6, conveyor systems- Consultant for sustainable buildingThe planning is primarily intended for a general planner and other planning participants. In the further course a conventional completion of the measures is planned. The client reserves the right, if necessary, to realize the measure through alternative types of planning, contracting and implementation (TU/GU contracting). For this purpose, the project manager is to prepare a study for process optimization that maps the individual processes of the partial construction measures as well as the overall measure. The goal is to find acceleration potential and to ensure the start of study operations as early as possible.
