Description

General description: On the federally owned property Stresemannstraße/Erna-Berger-Straße/Niederkirchnerstraße in Berlin's Mitte district, a new extension building including the outside facilities is to be planned for the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), which is also to serve as a beacon project for the Federal Government for Sustainable Building. The Federal Institute for Real Estate Affairs (BImA) is responsible for the measures and the awarding authority. The aim is to compact the site in such a way that maximum use can be made of it. 29,600 m2 of usable floor space (NF) for office space including canteen, conference area and library as a media information centre (MIZ) are planned in the new building. For this reason, the building must achieve the Gold quality level of the Federal Rating System for Sustainable Building (BNB). For the outdoor facilities to be redesigned, a minimum silver filling level (BNB) is targeted. As far as the location of the building site allows, the aim should be to reduce the energy requirement of the building as far as possible and to generate as much energy as possible on site. This means that robust, low-maintenance structural solutions are preferable to technical solutions. Only if this is not possible should technical solutions be used (low-tech approach). A gradual allocation of services is planned. However, there is no legal entitlement to the transfer of all benefits.
