Description
The Université de Montréal is inviting tenders for services based on the "quality" method of awarding contracts in order to retain the services of the Professional in Mechanical-Electrical Engineering to ensure the development and coordination of the entire Project for the planning, design, implementation and closing stages of the temporary Relocation project of the Department of Biochemistry (research and teaching) and of some premises occupied by Dentistry at the Roger-Gaudry Pavilion East, towards the Joseph Armand Bombardier Pavilion located at the Campus de la Montagne.
Currently the Biochemistry Department is located on the 3rd and 5th floors, the Dental Medicine premises to be relocated are located on the 5th floor and they occupy a total area of approximately 3800 m². This project is a preliminary milestone for the start of work on the major project to reassign the spaces of the Roger Gaudry Pavilion, which will be the subject of a subsequent call for tenders.
The temporary development planned for 4 years will take place in the spaces freed up by the Chemistry Department, which will soon move to the new MIL Campus in Outremont. The functions to be relocated are the teaching laboratory, research, microscopy, laundry, culture rooms, cold rooms, instrumentation room, storage as well as a significant number of specialized equipment (+/- 1050)
Term of office
The expected service period is from 10 months to 12 months.
Mandate (description of services)
The bidder will be responsible for planning, designing the plans, preliminary and final specifications, call for tenders required to ensure the relocation of the department, including:
Participate in the collection of needs from units
Take all required readings, equipment and furniture in place,
Carry out the layout plans for furniture and equipment
Consult the services of experts he or she considers useful for the provision of services.
Provide the required services during and after the Construction and relocation.

Estimated Project Value
The successful bidder will be awarded a Mandate for a project related to construction work with a value of $750,000, the value of which may vary and which will be validated at the study stage according to the needs, the chosen scenario and the available financing.
Timeline
The schedule for the project concerns the following period starting on 16 September 2019 and provides for the relocation of the Biochemistry department in May 2020, for the commissioning of the Biochemistry department in July 2020.
