New Zealand - 2020 Enhancing New Zealand’s Clinical Trials RFP

The Health Research Council of New Zealand (HRC) and the Ministry of Health (MoH) have formed a funding initiative to facilitate the development of a sustainable, nationally coordinated and equitable clinical trials enterprise in New Zealand.
The funding partners are seeking to fund high-quality research that will describe the strengths, gaps and areas of need for clinical trials systems and data infrastructure in the New Zealand public healthcare system, review related international evidence and best practice, and develop evidence-based recommendations to inform policy for clinical trials infrastructure in New Zealand.
A funding pool of $800,000 (exclusive of GST) is available and applications for funding of up to $800,000 (fully-costed, exclusive of GST) and duration of up to 15 months are invited.
It is anticipated that the contracted project will begin as soon as practicable, with funding available for an immediate start following notification of outcomes in August 2020.
The proposed research must be within the scope of this initiative as specified in this RFP and must realistically be able to be completed within the prescribed maximum timeframe of 15 months.
Applicants are firstly required to submit a Registration via HRC Gateway (HRC’s online application system). Registrations are due by 1pm, 10 March 2020. The full application will need to be submitted via HRC Gateway by 1pm, 7 April 2020.
