Are you a touring artist, or in the music or performing arts business and want to know what you need to do to tour across Europe? We are here to help demystify the process and make the requirements much easier to understand.

What you’ll learn

  • increased awareness of documentation for EU touring
  • better understanding of EU Member State visa and work permit arrangements
  • better knowledge of VAT issues around selling music merchandise in the EU

Description

Music is an important export sector for the UK, totalling £4 billion in 2022 (source: UK Music) - do you want to be part of that too? The European Union and the rest of the world broadly account for the same levels of export income, with the EU being the springboard for newer independent music exporters.

UK creative artists face continued challenges touring markets across the EU. However, we are here to help you explore how to overcome these challenges so you can confidently tour across Europe again, or for the first time.

This session will feature music industry and government speakers who will provide advice on the export documentation you need to complete. They'll also talk you through the steps in how to secure visas and work permits. Finally, they will cover specific issues related to touring that you may face, including market-specific considerations, VAT and any restrictions on transportation of equipment.

This session is ideal for first time and experienced exporters and aimed at all creative businesses in the music or performing arts industry, including music managers, agents, independent record labels and music logistics companies.
