Two countries committed to shared economic growth.

The UK and India have a strong people-to-people link through the 1.8 million Indian diaspora in the UK, representing the ‘living bridge’, a term coined by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is a testament to the incredible cultural bond that exists between the UK and India.

However, its not just the strong people-to-people link that binds these two countries together. The UK and India also have a close trading relationship that equates to £42 billion in the 12 months to June 2024, and an export value from the UK to India of £16.6 billion. This is in addition to the UK and India investment relationship that supports 600,000 jobs across both economies, with Indian FDI projects in the UK creating over 7,500 jobs in 2023/24.

To highlight the growing partnership, our bespoke campaign titled ‘Alive with Opportunity’ was launched in 2023. This campaign celebrates the people, ideas, and culture between the two countries, offering the opportunity to showcase a thriving partnership across sectors like tourism, education, retail, hospitality, and trade.
